11th Sitting of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues
At the sitting held on 29 August, the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues discussed the reasons for the termination of the term of office of MP Jorgovanka Tabakovic.
The Committee ascertained that the election to the post of Governor of the National Bank of Serbia falls within the scope of the situation described in Article 88, paragraph 1, item 5 of the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament, according to which taking over a function or position which are incompatible with the function of MP is listed as one of the reasons for the termination of an MP’s term of office before the expiry of the term he/she had been elected for. Accordingly, the Committee will propose that the National Assembly note the termination of the MP’s term of office.
At the sitting, MP Zoran Babic, from the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, was elected Committee Chairman.
The Committee debated the request of Dejan Djurdjevic, Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission and Miladin Pantelic, member of the Republic Electoral Commission, to be given an opinion regarding the performance of another public function. The Committee gave a positive opinion on the submitted requests.
The Committee considered the request of the Ombudsman’s Secretary General on a decision on the Ombudsman’s salary. The Committee adopted a Decree establishing the right to salary compensation for the term from the termination of the function to re-election to the function and a Decree on the Ombudsman’s salary.
The sitting was chaired by Nenad Konstantinovic, Committee Deputy Chairman, and Zoran Babic, Committee Chairman.
