10th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government
At the sitting held on 31 October, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government discussed the Ombudsman’s 2011 Regular Annual Report, the Anti-Corruption Agency’s 2011 Annual Activity Report and the 2011 Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The reports were resented by Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic, Anti-Corruption Agency Director Zorana Markovic and Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Sabic.
Following a discussion on the reports, the Committee concluded to prepare a proposal of conclusions and recommendations for one of its upcoming sittings, which it would propose to be adopted by the National Assembly, having discussed the annual activity reports of these independent bodies.
The Committee went on to consider the Amnesty Bill in detail. Out of the 10 amendments submitted by the MPs, the Committee accepted the two amendments also accepted by the Government and adopted five amendments which it would, as the Committee’s amendments, forward to the National Assembly for adoption.
At the sitting, the Committee proposed that Nedjo Jovanovic, MA Vladimir Cvijan, Srdjan Mikovic, Meho Omerovic and Dr Predrag Mijatovic be elected members of the Commission for the Control of the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.
The sitting was chaired by Petar Petrovic, Committee Chairman.
