National Assembly Chairman and Hungarian Parliamentary Speaker unveil Palic memorial plaque
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary, Katalin Szili, today unveiled a memorial plaque in the northern Serbian town of Palic, site of a refugee camp for those fleeing Hungary during the 1956 revolution.

The Municipality of Subotica, the National Council of the Hungarian Ethnic Minority in Serbia, and the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians jointly organised events in Serbia to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution; in one of these, Mr Markovic and Ms Szili, together with Vojvodina and local officials, laid wreaths at the memorial plaque in Palic’s Great Park, and addressed those present.
