National Assembly Deputy Speaker Nevena Djuric Opens Exhibition: Third Age, Age of Creation

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Nevena Djuric spoke at the opening of the exhibition organised by the Third Age Movement from Nis - "The Third Age, Age of Creation", as held in the central hall of the National Assembly House.

She greeted the guests on behalf of the National Assembly Speaker, Ana Brnabic, and on her own behalf, expressing her belief that the oldest and most experienced citizens are the foundation of our state and society, on which we build values and develop togetherness.

Nevena Djuric stressed that this exhibition is proof that creativity and creative energy are timeless and inexhaustible, and that healthy and active aging is a way of life that should inspire us all and be an integral part of life.

"The oldest citizens should and must be drivers of cultural heritage, guardians of tradition, and role models for us, the younger generations," said Djuric.

MP Haji Milorad Stosic spoke on behalf of the Nis Third Age Movement Nis, emphasising that the exhibition brings together third age artists of various professions, adding that in the 15 years of its existence, the movement has organised over ten art colonies, with hundreds of participants and several hundred paintings.

The attendees were also addressed by colony participants, representatives of the City of Nis, the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Family Care and Demography, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Rural Welfare.

The exhibition, marking 15 years of Nis Third Age Movement’s existence and work, is a retrospective of the movement’s art and was organised on World Art Day, 15 April, the birthday of Leonardo Da Vinci.
