National Assembly Delegation to NATO PA Takes Part in Session in Ljubljana

The Head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, and delegation members Natasa Jovanovic and Ivan Karic will be taking part, from 10 to 13 October 2025, at the 71st annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Ljubljana.

At the meeting of the NATO PA Political Committee, during the consideration of the report "Western Balkans: 30 years since the signing of the Dayton Accords" by Tomas Valasek, the head of the delegation, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, extended gratitude for the accepted suggestions submitted by the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, as well as for the balanced report. He pointed out the very difficult position of the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, assessing that by destabilising the northern part of Kosovo-Metohija, Albin Kurti essentially carried out ethnic cleansing of the Serbs, because since the outbreak of the crisis, about 20% of Serbs have left the north of Kosovo-Metohija. He emphasised that the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities is of vital importance for the Serbian people, which Pristina has been avoiding for 13 years.

Member of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Natasa Jovanovic stressed that it is very important to secure peace for the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, who are fighting tomorrow in the local elections to ensure the possibility of exercising their rights. She emphasised that the role of KFOR, is to take care of security in Kosovo-Metohija, while on the other hand A. Kurti is creating an illegal army, in order to continue ethnic cleansing. She reminded that 28 countries have withdrawn their recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of so-called "Kosovo". She also emphasised that the policy of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic preserves peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

Rapporteur Valasek thanked the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for all the suggestions submitted after the Dayton session and the Ljubljana meeting. He pointed out that the report had been significantly improved thanks to the contributions of the delegation members, as well as the data that enabled a detailed insight into the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, and that contributed to the report being balanced.
