Following yesterday's statement by four members of the REM Council who were elected at the National Assembly session on 12 November 2025, I announce that, in accordance with Articles 194 and 195 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, a request will be submitted to the National Assembly for an authentic interpretation of the relevant provisions of the Law on Electronic Media, which the MPs will rule on.
The relevant procedure will be initiated today, and the vote will take place at the first subsequent session of the National Assembly.
This proposal will be submitted in good faith that this authentic interpretation will provide the legal basis for the aforementioned members of the REM Council to assume their mandates.
I would like to repeat the call of the Culture and Information Committee for the four members to assume their mandates as soon as possible so that the REM Council can be constituted.
A fully constituted REM Council is in the national interest, including the interest of all political and media factors, and above all, the citizens of Serbia. That is why I am as committed as possible to the successful outcome of this process.
