Today the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic took part in the opening of the Conference "Five years of challenges, dedication and success of the Qualifications Agency".
Speaker Orlic congratulated the Qualifications Agency on its five years of existence, thanking them for their contribution to the improvement of our education and employment system through the results achieved so far by regulating the qualifications system in the Republic of Serbia at all levels and areas of education, connecting and aligning its qualification framework with European ones, as well as through the constant development of qualification standards based on the needs of the labour market, that is, alignment with the new economic development dynamics and adequate monitoring of all new trends in scientific and technological development. "Professional and competent staff is one of the main prerequisites for the additional development of the competitiveness of the domestic economy and the improvement of said competitiveness is the key to the further economic strengthening of Serbia," stressed Speaker Orlic.
He also pointed out that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will continue to support the significant advancements the National Qualifications Framework of the Republic of Serbia and the Qualifications Agency have been making since their establishment in order to connect the world of education and the world of work, through the harmonisation of laws and regulations and the integration of other legal acts in the aforementioned area.
"The National Assembly will continue to work, together with the Agency, on the achievement of its objectives, one of which stands out in particular - the return of young people to Serbia. Simultaneously, this objective is a priority for the state policy led by the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic, which we consistently and strongly implement at all levels. It is up to us to do everything in our power to bring those young people - educated and smart, back home if they left Serbia at some point in the past. At the same time, let us give all the good reasons to those equally smart, capable young people who finish their education in Serbia, to stay in their country,'' said Speaker Orlic.
