National Assembly Deputy Speaker Janjic underscored the need to preserve the unity of Orthodox peoples, given that today the Orthodox Church is being attacked from many sides, and these attacks are also a prelude to other conflicts. He stressed the need for the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy to act more energetically in protecting Christian heritage wherever it is threatened. He especially vocal about the uncivilised attempts to appropriate Serbian holy sites in Kosovo-Metohija. He stressed that at the time when some of the most important Serbian monasteries and churches in Kosovo-Metohija were being built, there were no Albanians at all in the historically Serbian area, and their authorities would today like to appropriate this Serbian heritage that has been acquired over centuries. He requested the intervention of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy in connection with these unacceptable attempts.

The participants were also addressed by the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and the President of the IAO General Assembly Ioan Vulpescu.

On the sidelines of the event, Janjic met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili to whom he conveyed greetings of National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic. The officials highlighted the closeness of the two peoples and mutual willingness to continue developing overall cooperation.
