Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Committee Chairman Veroljub Arsic Meets with ABRES Representatives

The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Veroljub Arsic, met today at the National Assembly House with representatives of the Association of Budget Accountants and Economists of the Republic of Serbia (ABRES).

The participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on topics within the competence of the Committee, which could be of importance for establishing cooperation.

The representatives of the Association of Budget Accountants and Economists of the Republic of Serbia informed the host about their objectives and activities. Natasa Panic, as the founder and president of ABRES, emphasised that this professional association was established with the aim of improving knowledge, professional standards and cooperation among experts dealing with budget accounting, public finances and economic affairs in the public sector.

The Committee Chairman stressed that standards in accounting and auditing are set by the State Audit Institution, and that the Committee can play the role of mediator in establishing and developing cooperation between ABRES and the DRI.

This meeting represents a continuation of the Committee's regular activities on strengthening cooperation with professional associations in order to achieve greater transparency and fiscal responsibility.
