The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic spoke today at the presentation of Grand Pilot Programme for Schools and Sports Facilities, organised by the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society and the Subcommittee on Sports.
In his address, the National Assembly Speaker said that the programme, which will starting September cover a number of primary and secondary schools, is aimed at children, their better physical and health education, so as to ensure their healthier development and bring sports closer to children and promote real values among the youth. “As a people, we are proud of our many sports achievements, the victories of Ivana Vuleta, Novak Djokovic and all others we celebrated in the past days. And we want to remain a sporting nation, one that is even today fostering some future champions. This project is a step in that directions”, said Dr Orlic.
He stressed that care for our youngest remains the focus of the state policy led by the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic, one also pursued by the National Assembly and the Government of Serbia. "By working for those who represent the future, we also create the conditions for our most beautiful and most important Serbia to be even more successful in the future," said Speaker Orlic.
The pilot programme “Every Child Has the Right to Grow Healthy!” is launched in cooperation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and ministries in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, based on the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sport and Ministry of Health signed on 31 July 31. The programme was presented in the National Assembly House by: Minister of Education Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Minister of Health Prof. Dr Danica Grujicic, Minister of Sports Zoran Gajic, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic and the Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Sports Tatjana Medved.
