Representatives of OTIS presented the work of the Organisation to date and put forward a proposal for improving the position of volunteer organisations operating in the field of protection and rescue in the Republic of Serbia. They said that OTIS was founded with the aim of developing an organised, professional and responsible volunteer search and rescue response team capable of searching inaccessible terrain, rescuing from rubble, responding to floods and other emergencies, as well as providing medical and logistical support in emergency situations. In the previous period, they managed to significantly develop their capacities through training, exercises, international cooperation and partnerships with relevant institutions and organisations. They stressed that institutional dialogue is vital for sustainable development and further improvement of their capacities, as well as increasing the number of trained volunteers in several cities in the Republic of Serbia.

MA Milovan Drecun, Chairman of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee, thanked the representatives of OTIS for presenting their achievements and commended their commitment to humanitarian and volunteer work. He particularly emphasised the importance of the fact that OTIS's future work will be based on a strategic development plan and that the state of Serbia has recognized the role of volunteer rescue capacities in the Republic of Serbia and the Organisation Search and Rescue Serbia as an important organisation for the further strengthening of the protection and rescue system.

The meeting was attended by: Dr Dragan Bjelic, President of the OTIS Governing Board; Ivan Rakovic, Vice President of the OTIS Governing Board; Dr Dunja Halilovic, member of the OTIS Governing Board; Dobrica Petric, President of the OTIS Belgrade Governing Board and Nikolas Vukovic, President of the OTIS Subotica Governing Board.
