31st Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications
At its 31st sitting, held on 19 May, the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications discussed, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Zoran Ilic, Assistant Minister for Air Transport, highlighted the importance of the Bill and its adjustment to European and international regulation. He emphasised the chapters relating to the harmonisation of the terminology with the one adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), to aviation safety which includes a proposal to set up a Safety Committee, security of the airspace, air transport, airlines, airports and the environment.
Mirjana Cizmarov, Head of the Civil Aviation Directorate, spoke of the transference of authority regarding the adoption of by-laws by the Head of the Directorate, and boosting efficiency due to the speed of changes in European and international regulations. Cizmarov concluded that this has been achieved by these alterations and the Agreement on Common Aviation Area.
Following a discussion, the Committee adopted the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law, in principle, by majority vote.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milutin Mrkonjic.
