14th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 23 January 2023, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending considered the basis for the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Serbia on the participation of the Republic of Serbia in the European Union “Customs” Programme for cooperation in the field of customs and the text of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Serbia on the participation of the Republic of Serbia in the European Union “Customs” Programme for cooperation in the field of customs, submitted by the Government requesting consent from the competent committee for the provisional implementation of the Agreement pending its coming into force.

Assistant Minister of Finance Snezana Karanovic presented the abovementioned item on the agenda saying that the reasons for the provisional implementation of the Agreement are harmonisation of the regulations of the Republic of Serbia with the EU acquis and Serbia’s accession to the European Union. One of the key reasons for granting permission for the provisional implementation of the Agreement is also securing funds for the work on the Common Communication Network/ Common Systems Interface and its applications.

The Committee decided, by majority vote, to grant consent Government of the Republic of Serbia for the provisional implementation of the Agreement pending its coming into force.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Veroljub Arsic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: MA Svetlana Milijic, Vojislav Vujic, Miroslav Kondic, Prof. Dr Vladimir Obradovic, Rozalia Okresz, Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Nikola Radosavljevic, Nebojsa Cakic, Zoran Stojanovic, Tijana Davidovac, Dragan Markovic, Ana Beloica and Djordje Stankovic.
