Third Sitting of the Board of Inquiry to Ascertain the Facts on the Manner of Expenditure of Republic of Serbia Budgetary Funds on the Territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija in the period 2000-2012

At the third sitting of the Board of Inquiry to Ascertain the Facts on the Manner of Expenditure of Republic of Serbia Budgetary Funds on the Territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija in the period 2000-2012, held on 12 June, the Board members reviewed the Analysis of the reports of the ministries of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Office for Kosovo-Metohija and the Archives of Yugoslavia on the manner of expenditure of Republic of Serbia budgetary funds on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija in the period 2000-2012.

Chairman of the Board Momir Stojanovic informed the assembly body members that all the ministries, except for the Ministry of Health, and other relevant authorities have submitted the requested reports and additional information. He proposed a modus operandi for the Board of Inquiry that would make it possible to complete the work within the set deadline, adding that three teams have been established comprising tax and budget inspection experts. Stojanovic said that, in the control of budgetary spending, they should focus on reviewing civic petitions, on the functioning of municipal administrations, financing of public enterprises and business process control of the Trepca ore-melting basin.
The Board members had several proposals and suggestions about the planned activities, emphasising the need to review the budget allocations where considerable funds were spent. The Board of Inquiry said that it would not conduct investigations but the goal is to launch investigations if it is found that there has been misuse and unauthorised spending of funds. Following the discussion, the Board of Inquiry decided to address the Red Cross and Commissariat for Refugees with a request for information on the amount of budgetary funds spent in AP Kosovo-Metohija from 200 to 2012.

The sitting was chaired by Momir Stojanovic, Chairman of the Board of Inquiry.
