Third Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010

At the request of 121 deputies, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the ThirdExtraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010, for Tuesday, 29 June 2010, starting at 12 p.



At the request of 121 deputies, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the ThirdExtraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010, for Tuesday, 29 June 2010, starting at 12 p.m.

The Request to hold the extraordinary session set the following the agenda:

1. The Proposal of the Decision on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of global economic crisis, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

2. The Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Anti-Corruption Agency, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and

3. The Proposal of Candidates for the Election of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Serbia, submitted by the President of the Republic of Serbia.

At the beginning of the proceedings, the National Assembly Speaker reminded the deputies that on 28 June 2010 they had received the Government’s notification withdrawing the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Anti-Corruption Agency from assembly procedure.

The Proposal of the Decision on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of global economic crisis was elaborated by the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic.

By the end of the day, the National Assembly had conducted and completed the discussion in principle on the Bill.

On the second day of work, 30 June, the deputies completed a discussion on the Proposal of Candidates for the Election of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Serbia, submitted by the President of the Republic of Serbia.

On the third day of work, 1 July, the National Assembly conducted and completed the discussion on the particulars on the Proposal of the Decision on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of global economic crisis.

At the beginning of the proceedings, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the Deputy Groups Arpad Fremond, Zlata Djeric, Zoran Sami, Dragan Todorovic, Ivan Andric and Dragan Sormaz requested information and explanations, under article 235 of the Rules of Procedure.

Since the National Assembly had completed the discussion in principle and on the particulars on all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic set Thursday, 1 July 2010, as Voting Day on the items on the agenda for the Third Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2010, starting at 3.35 p.m.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 1 July 2010, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of global economic crisis, in its entirety, by 127 votes.

In an open vote, the National Assembly elected Novi Sad High Court Judge Sabahudin Tahirovic Judge of the Constitutional Court of Serbia, by a majority of votes.

The National Assembly also ruled on the violations of the Rules of Procedure the deputies complained of during the session and decided that the provisions of the Rules of Procedure had not been violated.

Since the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, the National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic concluded the Third Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010.
