The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Oliver Dulic, talked today to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, Jacek Saryusz Wolski.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Oliver Dulic, talked today to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, Jacek Saryusz Wolski.

Both agreed that Serbia’s road towards the European Union has no alternative.

Speaker Dulic announced an intensification of activities aiming to maximize the expediency of the European integration process. He expressed his belief that Serbia will sign the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU in the upcoming period and expects that full liberalisation of the visa regime will be achieved.

Wolski said that Serbia has its place in the EU and that the speed of reaching this goal is solely up to Serbia. “This will also be greatly influenced by the upcoming elections, because their outcome may determine whether Serbia will soon become a candidate for membership of an enclave within the EU”, Wolski stated.
