Security Services Control Committee in Supervisory Visit to Military Security Agency Centre in Kraljevo
In line with the Committee’s 2014 Activity Plan, the members of the Security Services Control Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia conducted a supervisory visit to the Military Security Agency Centre in Kraljevo on 18 November 2014.
In line with its duties pursuant to the law the Committee delegation supervised the legality of the Military Security Agency Centre’s work, learned about the problems it encounters in day-to-day work and ascertained that the members of the Military Security Agency Centre in Kraljevo act in a professional manner and in accordance with procedures prescribed by law. It also noted the need for additional staff for the Military Security Agency Centre due to the Centre’s responsibility zone and key tasks, of which the Committee will inform the National Assembly in its Annual Report on supervision conducted over the security services’ work in 2014.
In the course of the supervisory visit, the Committee delegation supervised the legality of the implementation of special procedures outlined in the Law on the Military Security and Military Intelligence Agency, as well as the legality of the performance of the Military Security Agency’s duties in the conduction of special evidence collection procedures regulated by the Criminal Procedure Code. The Committee delegation members had direct insight into the documentation on cases realised in the period 2013 – first half of 2014 and found no irregularities.
This visit to the Military Security Agency Centre completes the cycle of planned supervisory visits to the security service district centres.
