Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2017

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2017, for Friday, 21 April, starting at 10 am.


The National Assembly adopted the following agenda:

  1. Bill on Biomedical Assisted Reproduction, submitted by the Government;
  2. Bill on Transfusion Medicine, submitted by the Government.
The MPs accepted the proposal of MP Dr Aleksandar Martinovic to complete a joint debate in principle on both items on the agenda.

The bills were presented by Minister of Health Dr Zlatibor Loncar.

Based on the Decision of the Republic Electoral Commission and the Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the verification of the term of office of MPs Vera Jovanovic and Jelisaveta Veljkovic elected from the Electoral List ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – SERBIA IS WINNING, Dusan Milisavljevic elected from the Electoral List FOR A JUST SERBIA – DEMOCRATIC PARTY (NOVA, DSHV, ZZS), and Filip Stojanovic elected from the Electoral List Dr VOJISLAV SESELJ - SERBIAN RADICAL PARTY. After the newly-elected MPs had taken the oath of office, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic wished them success.

For the remainder of the day the National Assembly conducted and finally concluded the joint debate in principle on the Bill on Biomedical Assisted Reproduction and the Bill on Transfusion Medicine.

On the second day of the proceedings, 25 April, before moving on to the agenda, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups, MPs Dejan Nikolic, Natasa Micic, Prof. Dr Vojislav Seselj, Marko Djurisic, Slavisa Ristic, Srdjan Nogo, Milija Miletic, Sasa Radulovic and Aleksandar Markovic, requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.

The National Assembly conducted a debate in detail on the Bill on Biomedical Assisted Reproduction and the Bill on Transfusion Medicine.

By the end of the workday, the National Assembly completed the debate in detail on the Bill on Biomedical Assisted Reproduction and the Bill on Transfusion Medicine.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate in principle and in detail on all the items on the agenda of the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2017, the Chair, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic set Tuesday, 25 April 2017, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda, starting at 5 pm.

On Voting Day, by majority vote, the National Assembly passed the Bill on Biomedical Assisted Reproduction and the Bill on Transfusion Medicine.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2017.
