The Bill was presented by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Public Debt Administration, Predrag Ivanovic, acting assistant director, and Dragana Ratkovic, Head of the Project and Programme Loans Section. The amendments and modifications to the Agreement are passed to extend the deadline for the disposal of the loan funds since the work is still underway. All the other provisions of the Agreement remain the same, and so far, 80% of the funds have been withdrawn. Also, though Serbian legislation does not provide for the ratification of amendments and modifications of agreements, the Azerbaijani party insisted on it due to its legislative process.

In the ensuing discussion the Committee members asked whether and why the construction work is behind schedule, about Serbia’s total public debt on the present day, whether the domestic producers were paid per situation i.e. for the construction work performed and whether Serbia fulfilled any of its obligations to Azerbaijan under the loan here discussed.

Following the debate the Committee members accepted the Bill.
