National Assembly Speaker on 25 November, International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women
On 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic would like to point out the alarming data on the numbers of women victims of violence in Serbia and stress that all the relevant authorities and institutions need to coordinate their effort in order to eliminate violence against women and punish the offenders.
The role and activities of the state institutions, Government and the National Assembly are of paramount importance for the society’s fight against violence against women and ensuring full gender equality, as is the assistance and cooperation of the civil sector, education system and the media.
We must all work together to build a society without violence and the National Assembly is dedicated to it both through its legislative work and the activities of the Women’s Parliamentary Network.
