National Assembly Speaker at Conference on the Balkan Knot of the First World War
”The collective feeling of every nation when speaking about wars could be summarized in one hard word – injustice”, said the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, addressing the participants of the international scientific conference The Balkan Knot of the First World War, at the National Assembly House.
“The predominant feeling among small nations is that we are too often the victims, that we are like a piece in a strategic game sacrificed at the beginning because, in a kind of a repetitio compulsiva chess gambit, it always finds itself the target of cannons”, said Djukic Dejanovic.
The National Assembly Speaker was hopeful that the “conference will contribute to a general understanding of the events that covered Europe in black; so that it might be a starting point in rectifying the additional injustice established by the deadliest weapon of the modern world – spoken and written word".
