National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Non-Resident Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received the non-resident Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan H.E. Ahed Sweidat in a courtesy visit today.

Welcoming Ambassador Sweidat, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic wished him a successful term of office, pointing out that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Jordan are good, but that there is a lot of room for improvement. National Assembly Speaker Dacic mentioned that this year we would be marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations and perhaps this jubilee was an excellent opportunity to reactivate relations in all fields.

The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ahed Sweidat thanked the host, expressing his intention to actively contribute to the bilateral relations between the two countries during his term of office. He agreed that there is a lot of room to improve bilateral cooperation, which would certainly benefit from closer contacts between officials, as well as parliamentarians.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic stressed that there was an open invitation to the speakers of the Jordanian Parliament’s Senate and the House of Representatives, also expressing his readiness to visit Jordan in person.
