The delegation of the National Assembly’s Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee selected to go to Strasbourg will comprise Dr Vladimir Orlic, Head, members: Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Laszlo Varga, Aleksandra Djurovic, Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic, Dragan Sormaz, Zoran Babic, Dr Dijana Vukomanovic, Vesna Marjanovic, Vera Paunovic, Dr Milorad Mijatovic and Dusica Stojkovic, substitute member.
The topics to be discussed with the MEPs in the European Union-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee will be the progress of the pre-accession talks and relations between the European Union and Serbia with a focus on analytical reviews of the legislation, key conclusions and recommendations of the meetings and the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, open issues and key conclusions of the body monitoring the implementation of the Agreement. The joint parliamentary committee will also discuss the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy and Serbia’s place in it, Serbia’s role in the strengthening of regional cooperation, economic reform, situation as regards the improvement of fundamental rights and liberties as well as the progress in the fight against corruption and organised crime and judiciary reform.
At the end of the meeting the Committee will discuss the proposal of joint recommendations, pursuant to article 7 of the Parliamentary Committee Rules of Procedure and article 125 of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, to be adopted by both delegations’ majority vote and forwarded to the Stabilisation and Association Council and the relevant Serbian and EU institutions.
