A delegation of the Committee on Defence and Security of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met, on 8 November, a delegation of the Foreign Policy, Defence and Security Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. The delegations were headed, respectively, by committee chairmen Milorad Mircic and Professor Dr Venko Aleksandrov. The talks centred on improving regional parliamentary co-operation.

The delegations were greeted by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic.

Representatives of the two committees discussed possible modes of co-operation which would facilitate the preparation of pre-conditions and legal frameworks for integration into the EU. The Bulgarian side expressed readiness to share Bulgaria’s positive experiences and so provide assistance in the European integration process.

After the discussions ended, Mr Mircic and Professor Aleksandrov signed the Memorandum on co-operation between the two committees.
