Members of PFG with China at Round Table - Cultural Cooperation between Serbia and China

The Parliamentary Friendship Group with China, headed by Marina Ragus, took part in the round table - Cultural cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China. The event was held at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Belgrade and was preceded by the exhibition "The Culture of the Eternal Teacher Confucius".

The Head of the PFG with China Marina Ragus pointed out that culture is field through which two peoples get to know each other best and spoke about the friendly relations between the two countries, based on the exceptional understanding between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

"The two presidents have built something rarely seen in bilateral relations, especially in these challenging geopolitical times. Our friendship has braved many challenges and today we can be proud of it, our steely friendship. The format of our future has been defined thanks to the wisdom of two leaders. Our common future means: non-interference in internal affairs, active peaceful coexistence, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, not only of our countries, but of all countries in the world. Thus, returning to the postulates of the UN. For Serbia there is one China and for China there is one Serbia which is something that requires courage to say in all international forums. This is just one of the many steps towards building a community with a common future," said Ragus.

China's Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the PFG with China is the largest one in the National Assembly, with over a hundred members.

"The National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee is also the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with our country, which truly reflects the friendship between China and Serbia. We cherish the friendship with the Serbian people and sympathize with each other in difficult times. The Chinese Cultural Centre was built by joint efforts and I believe that it will become an excellent place for cultural exchange between the two countries and another witness to the "steely" friendship between Serbia and China," said the Chinese Ambassador.
