MP Natasa Vuckovic Talks to Giani Magazzini, Head of OHCHR Europe, North America and Central Asia Regional Office
MP Natasa Vuckovic, as the envoy of the National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, spoke to Giani Magazzini, Head of OHCHR Europe, North America and Central Asia Regional Office and Dmitri Alekseievich, Human Rights Officer for Europe and Central Asia at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The meeting focused on the NARS human rights activities so far and its cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ombudsman, as well as the upcoming joint activities.
In addition to the wide variety of support the UN institution is ready to offer NSRS, they also spoke about the international conference to be held in February 2012, at the NARS House, co-organised by the NARS, Ombudsman’s Office and OHCHR. The conference would provide the opportunity to discuss the relationship between the parliament and institutions such as the Ombudsman’s Office in Serbia from a European point of view i.e. in light of the situation in the European states and to establish guidelines for the development of relations such as the functional cooperation developing between the Ombudsman and NARS in other countries, which is exactly why Belgrade was selected as a location of the conference.
