Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Deputy Chairperson Attends Session of UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women

The Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, Tamara Tripic, took part in the 55th session of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women held on 18 July 2013 in Geneva, as a member of the delegation of the Republic of Serbia.


The Republic of Serbia’s delegation successfully presented the Second and Third periodic report of the Republic of Serbia on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), focusing on the measures the state employs to fight discrimination against women, protect women against violence, address the participation of women in political life and other areas of importance for the status of women in Serbia.

The UN Committee will forward the final report with recommendations to the Republic of Serbia next week.
