Head of PFG with Switzerland Dr Tatjana Markovic Topalovic Meets with Newly-Appointed Swiss Ambassador to Serbia

The officials agreed that economic, cultural and development cooperation between the two countries could be even stronger, with the PFG Head opining that parliamentary cooperation could also reach a higher level. The topics of the conversation also concerned the fight against corruption, reforms in the education system, environmental protection and lithium mining, as well as the standard of living of the Serbian population.

Tatjana Markovic Topalovic said that the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Switzerland in the National Assembly has 32 members and pointed out that a meeting between the members of the Group and the Ambassador would be of mutual interest, as yet another instrument for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the technology parks in Serbia, with the MP using the opportunity to mention the Science Park in Sabac, which was opened with the support of the Swiss government. Ms Lugon-Moulin said that the Swiss Embassy, together with the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, will hold the First Innovation Forum, where the topics will be clean technologies and sustainability, intellectual property, quantum research and technologies, as well as science in diplomacy, and took the opportunity to invite the PFG Head.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador pointed out that one of her goals would be to establish closer ties between the two countries’ parliamentarians and Markovic Topalovic added that she would convey the Ambassador's desire to meet at Group level to the PFG members.
