Head and Members of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia Speak to Tunisian Ambassador to Serbia
The Head and members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia met today at the National Assembly House with the Ambassador of Tunisia to Serbia H.E. Majid Hamlaoui.
Tunisian Ambassador Hamlaoui also spoke of the two countries’ long-standing friendship, saying that Tunisia sees Serbia as the heir to Yugoslavia. As proof of the two countries’ friendship the Ambassador underlined the fact that Tunisia never cancelled its diplomatic mission in Serbia and that there is no visa regime between the two countries. Ambassador Hamlaoui said that Tunisia has elected its President who is to hold office for the next five years and assembled its Parliament less than two weeks ago. He stressed that he would spare no effort to make sure the parliamentary friendship group with Serbia be the first one the Parliament forms. Highlighting the importance of interparliamentary cooperation, the Ambassador opined that cooperation between the two countries’ parliamentary friendship groups could be the bridge to bring Serbia and Tunisia closer together.
The Ambassador agreed with member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia Dr Gordana Zoric that cooperation could be furthered in the spheres of economy, education and tourism which could employ a reciprocity model– Serbia could offer winter spa tourism to Tunisians.
The meeting was also attended by PFG members Aida Djedovic, Enis Imamovic and Mirjana Marjanovic.
