The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Denmark, Jelena Travar Miljevic emphasised the traditionally good relations between Serbia and Denmark, hoping for further improvement of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Travar Miljevic drew attention to the considerable Danish donations used to boost the public sector and stimulate local economic development in Serbia, as well as the investments of Danish companies into the Serbian market which set the groundwork necessary to create new jobs. She also thanked Denmark for its support of Serbia’s European integration.
The participants of the meeting also noted that the two countries have achieved excellent cooperation in the sphere of defence and internal affairs and that there is room to expand cooperation in the spheres of textile and food industry, agriculture, information technologies, construction, energy and environmental protection.
The members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Denmark also mentioned the developed and efficient system of social welfare and healthcare in Denmark, showing interest to learn more about its social policy system and measures.
Besides the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Denmark, the meeting with the Danish Ambassador was also attended by the following members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group: Milica Dronjak, Zlata Djeric, Ljubica Milosevic, Vera Paunovic, Vesna Rakonjac, Slavica Saveljic and Mirko Cikiriz.
