Gojkovic and Aliyev urged for strengthening economic cooperation, agreeing that there is potential for development, especially in the areas of energy, infrastructure, agriculture and military technical cooperation.
Gojkovic said that the doors for Azerbaijani investment in Serbia are wide open and that Serbia is interested in seeing an increase in the Azerbaijani presence in the development of Serbian economy.
Aliyev said that the relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are developing rapidly and have in a short time reached enviable levels, stressing that Azerbaijan finds the prospects for investment into Serbian economy interesting.
The Azerbaijani President stressed that the prospects for the development of trade are good, as well as for military technical cooperation and energy production where Azerbaijan, he said, is considered to be a significant partner.
Gojkovic thanked Azerbaijan for its support of Serbia’s territorial integrity underlining Serbia’s principled support of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and urged for dialogue and peaceful resolution of all open issues, while Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Gojkovic also met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov with whom she discussed concrete steps for the development of parliamentary cooperation, which was the goal of her visit, first at the level of the two countries’ parliament speakers.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia also spoke with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade. The officials ended the meeting once again asserting the good and friendly relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan.
