Fourth Sitting of the Commission for the Control of the Execution of Criminal Sanctions
At its fourth sitting, held on 26 January, the members of the Commission for the Control of the Execution of Criminal Sanctions reviewed and accepted the Report on the visit to the juvenile detention and rehabilitation centre in Valjevo and the Report on the visit to the juvenile correctional centre in Krusevac.
In line with its scope, the Commission visited the juvenile detention and rehabilitation centre in Valjevo on 12 December 2014 to investigate the conditions in the facility under which said category of offenders serves their sentences. To that end, the Commission members first spoke to the administrator, and then toured the facility.
The Commission also visited the juvenile correctional centre in Krusevac on 15 December 2014 to investigate the conditions in the facility under which juveniles are administered their respective correctional measures. The Commission members first spoke to the administrator who briefed them on the basic data relating to the correctional facility and the treatment of the inmates.
The Commission members also discussed their coming visits to the correctional facility of Zabela in Pozarevac and the correctional facility in Sremska Mitrovica, and agreed to visit them in early February.
The Commission went on to decide to convene once again within 15 days to discuss the Commission Report with conclusion proposals, which will then be forwarded to the National Assembly to be discussed and adopted.
The sitting was chaired by Meho Omerovic, Chairman of the Commission, and attended by Commission members Nedjo Jovanovic, Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic, Dr Predrag Mijatovic and Olena Papuga.
