Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Committee Chairman Meets with CEF Representatives

The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Veroljub Arsic met today, at the National Assembly House, with the representatives of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF) Aleksandra Tekijaski, Aleksandra Rabrenovic and Ana Prodanovic.

The topic of the meeting was assessing need to support the development of an overall training programme for MPs focusing on public finances adjusted to children’s needs. The project aims to ascertain exactly how much money is allocated from the budget for financing children, child rights protection with a special focus on how much money is earmarked for children with developmental difficulties. The CEF project is supported by UNICEF Serbia and is aimed at reducing child poverty in Serbia.

Arsic stressed that advancement in the knowledge of MPs and representatives of local self-governments related to the control of is public spending is more than welcome. The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending put forward a number of proposals related to the implementation of the project in Serbia and informed the CEF representatives how they could conduct their research here.
