Fifth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Fifth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Monday, 30 November 2009, starting at 3:15 p.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Fifth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Monday, 30 November 2009, starting at 3:15 p.m.

The National Assembly established the following agenda:

1. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of President of the Supreme Court of Cassation, submitted by the High Judicial Council,

2. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of Republic Public Prosecutor, submitted by the Government,

3. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of Prosecutors for Special Prosecutor’s Offices, submitted by the Government,

4. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors for Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Offices, submitted by the Government,

5. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors for Higher Public Prosecutor’s Offices, submitted by the Government

6. The Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors for Basic Public Prosecutor’s Offices, submitted by the Government.

The National Assembly accepted the Government’s proposal to place all the proposed documents onto the agenda under urgent procedure.

The National Assembly accepted the proposal of deputy Vlatko Ratkovic to conduct a joint discussion on items 1 through 6 on the agenda.

At the beginning of the joint discussion, Djurdjina Bjelobaba, member of the High Judicial Council, elaborated the Proposal of the Decision on the election of President of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

In the explanation of the remaining items on the agenda, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic said that the State Prosecutors Council had submitted a proposal of candidates to the Government and the Government had not discussed the individual solutions proposed by the State Prosecutors Council.

The Justice and Administration Committee rapporteur, Bosko Ristic stressed that none of the Committee members disputed the proposed candidates and that the Committee unanimously ruled that the Assembly should elect the proposed candidates.

Since the National Assembly had completed the joint discussion on all the items on the agenda for the sitting, the National Assembly Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic designated Monday, 30 November as Voting Day on the items on the agenda for the Fifth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, starting at 8:45 p.m.

Voting Day

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of President of the Supreme Court of Cassation and elected Nata Mesarevic President of the Supreme Court of Cassation. The National Assembly Speaker congratulated Nata Mesarevic on being elected and wished her success.

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of Republic Public Prosecutor and elected Zagorka Dolovac Republic Public Prosecutor. The National Assembly Speaker congratulated Zagorka Dolovac on being elected and wished her success.

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of Prosecutors for Special Prosecutor’s Offices and elected Miljko Radisavljevic Prosecutor for Organised Crime at the Organised Crime Prosecutor’s Office, whereas Vladimir Vukcevic was elected War Crimes Prosecutor and the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office.

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors for Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Offices and elected Nenad Ukropina Appellate Public Prosecutor for the Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Nebojsa Budic Appellate Public Prosecutor for the Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kragujevac, and Krsman Ilic Appellate Public Prosecutor for the Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Office in Nis.

At the sitting, by a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors into Higher Public Prosecutor’s Offices and elected 25 public prosecutors into higher public prosecutor’s offices.

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of Public Prosecutors into Basic Public Prosecutor’s Offices and elected 31 public prosecutors into basic public prosecutor’s offices.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic congratulated the public prosecutors on being elected and wished them success on the behalf of the deputies and her own.

Since the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, concluded the Fifth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009.
