Culture and Information Committee Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson Meet with Bundestag Member

The Chairperson of the Culture and Information Committee Nevena Djuric and Deputy Chairperson Sanja Jefic Brankovic met today at the National Assembly with the member of the Committee on Cultural and Media Affairs of the German Bundestag Erhard Grundl to discuss the cultural cooperation between the two parliaments and two countries.

Nevena Djuric said that the Serbian culture is present in Germany through the participation in book fairs and film festivals and highlighted the importance of the initiative to open a Serbian Cultural Centre in Berlin.

Djuric and Erhard Grundl exchanged information and experiences two committees gained in the performance of their legislative and control roles. They agreed that it would be mutually beneficial to exchange delegations of the two committees of the National Assembly and the Bundestag so as to foster closer ties and exchange work experience and best practice examples. They also agreed on the importance of nurturing the culture of remembrance, truthful information of the citizens and the importance of the concept of “green culture”.

The officials opined that meetings such as this one are extremely important and that cultural exchange can facilitate bringing our two countries and nations closer together.
