Committee Chairman Veroljub Arsic reminded the Committee that at the sitting held on 16 November it had adopted the Decision noting the termination of office of Dr Miladin Kovacevic, member of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, due to the expiry of his term of office, and that he had sent a memo to the heads of the parliamentary groups at the National Assembly asking them to submit the names of candidates for member of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia by 18 November at the latest.

The Committee Chairman informed the Committee members that the Serbian Progressive Party and Social Democratic Party of Serbia parliamentary groups had nominated Dr Miladin Kovacevic, and the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group had nominated Igor Momcilovic.

The Committee members interviewed Dr Miladin Kovacevic and Igor Momcilovic and formulated the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of One Member of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia. By majority vote, the Committee decided that Dr Miladin Kovacevic should be the candidate for member of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia.

The Committee members decided to forward the Decision Proposal to the National Assembly to be discussed by urgent procedure and selected the Committee Chairman as its rapporteur.
