69th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 27 March 2019, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending deliberated on the Bill on the Confirmation of the Founding Act of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The Bill was presented by Ana Tripovic, acting director of the Public Debt Administration, said that by joining AIIB Serbia would gain access to favourable loans for infrastructure, energy, communication and environmental projects. AIIB is an international bank, located in Beijing, and comprises 93 member states.

The Committee members proposed, by majority vote, that the National Assembly accept the Bill on the Confirmation of the Founding Act of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The Committee members went on to move to launch proceedings to ascertain the proposal for the election of a member of the Republic Commission for Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures.

The Committee members also adopted the Decision on the establishment of a Working Group to conduct the election of a member of the Republic Commission for Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures, headed by Veroljub Arsic and comprising Goran Ciric, Prof. Dr Milorad Mijatovic, Milan Lapcevic and Goran Kovacevic.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Djordje Kosanic, Sonja Vlahovic, Olivera Pesic, Goran Kovacevic, Srbislav Filipovic, Momo Colakovic, Zoltan Pek, Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic, Zoran Despotovic and Zoran Bojanic.
