64th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 27 February, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending launched the proceedings for the election of Securities Commission President.


Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic reminded the Committee members that the National Assembly had at the 11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 11th Legislature on 14 February 2019 adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of President of the Securities Commission of Predrag Dedejic who had resigned the post. Therefore, the National Assembly needs to elect a new Commission President to a five-year term-of-office.

The Committee accepted the Chairperson’s proposal to send a memo to the parliamentary groups asking them to nominate candidates no later than 15 March 2019, after which the Committee members would interview the candidates as stipulated in Article 203 paragraph 3 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure. Tomic also reminded the attending that the nominations should contain a short CV and written acceptance of nomination, and the candidate should also submit his/her Commission activity plan proposal.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Goran Kovacevic, Zoran Bojanic, Momo Colakovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Vojislav Vujic, Dr Milorad Mijatovic, Zoran Despotovic, Veroljub Arsic, Dusko Tarbuk and Zoltan Pek.
