47th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 18 May 2018, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Freezing of Assets for the Aim of Preventing Terrorism in detail.

Neither the Government nor the Committee accepted any of the 21 amendments the MPs had submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Freezing of Assets for the Aim of Preventing Terrorism.

The Committee Chairperson then presented the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015 and containing 17 goals and 169 targets. Tomic said that the National Assembly had established a Focus Group for the Development of Control Mechanisms for the Process of Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals headed by MP Prof. Dr Milorad Mijatovic.

Prof. Dr Milorad Mijatovic spoke how important it is to implement the sustainable development goals and reminded the Committee members that the National Assembly will be hosting a Regional Seminar on the Sustainable Development Goals for the Parliaments of Central; and Eastern Europe and Central Asia on 24 and 25 May.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Sonja Vlahovic, Momo Colakovic, Zoran Despotovic, Milorad Mircic, Zoran Bojanic, Prof. Dr Milorad Mijatovic, Milan Lapcevic, Veroljub Arsic, Olivera Pesic, Srbislav Filipovic and Goran Kovacevic.
