The Subcommittee members discussed the matter with the State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Velimir Stanojevic, mainly focusing on crops, orchards and vineyards. Despite the warm autumn, the orchards and vineyards have entered the winter dormant phase. The farmers’ task in the coming period is going to be fertilization to maintain the fertility of the soil. They also spoke about burning underbrush which is an offense a punishable under the Law on Agricultural Land. Expert services are educating farmers in the field and crop farmers need to be provided adequate help to reduce these burnings and boost tilling.

The Subcommittee members went on to discuss the conservation of machines before the coming winter to prevent their being damaged by low temperatures. One of the problems is the age of the machinery used by farmers in rural areas.

The Subcommittee members also spoke with the representatives of the Hunting Association of Serbia headed by President Bratislav Cirkovic. The representatives of the Association spoke about feeding the wildlife during the winter period which is especially important in the case of snow to prevent their dying and migration, and about a rough estimate of the number of animals.
