35th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 12 December, the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending interviewed the candidates for president of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia and director of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions.

Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic informed the Committee members that the Serbian Progressive Party and Dveri parliamentary groups had submitted nominations for president of the NBS Governor’s Council and director of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions. The Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group had nominated Dr Nebojsa Savic for president of the NBS Governor’s Council and Zeljko Jovic for director of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions, while the Dveri Party Parliamentary Group had nominated Dr Predrag Mitrovic for both posts.

Following the interview the Committee established the Proposal of the Decision for the Election of President of the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia proposing that the National Assembly elect Dr Nebojsa Savic president of the NBS Governor’s Council. The Committee also decided to forward the Proposal to the National Assembly by urgent procedure.

The Committee also established the Proposal of the Decision for the Election of Director of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions proposing that the National Assembly elect Zeljko Jovic director of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions. This Proposal was also forwarded to the National Assembly by urgent procedure.

The Committee Chairperson went on to inform the Committee members that Securities Commission member Zarko Milicevic had resigned on 13 November 2013.

Since the National Assembly notes the termination of the term of office of Securities Commission members at the proposal of the relevant Committee, the Committee members established the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of Securities Commission member Zarko Milicevic and forwarded it to the National Assembly by urgent procedure.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic.

The sitting was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Momo Colakovic, Sonja Vlahovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Zoran Bojanic, Goran Kovacevic, Olivera Pesic, Vojislav Vujic, Dr Milorad Mijatovic, Gorica Gajic, Djordje Milicevic, Zoran Krasic and Milorad Mircic.
