34th Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy
At the sitting held on 19 November, the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy discussed several activity information reports submitted by the Ministry of Economy.
The Committee members reviewed and accepted the Ministry of Economy Activity Information for the period January-March 2015, Ministry of Economy Activity Information for the period April-June 2015 and the Ministry of Economy Activity Information for the period July-September 2015.
The activity information reports were presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Dragan Stevanovic who said that the Ministry had contributed to the fiscal consolidation, especially the part concerning the process of privatisation of public enterprises, reform of public enterprises and regulation of economic stimulus packages and investments which are to yield results next year.
The Committee also reviewed and adopted the Ministry of Economy’s reports on the activity of the Privatisation Agency for February, March, May, June, August and September 2015, which were presented by Dragan Ugricic, acting director of the Privatisation Agency.
He said that in January the Agency had 560 enterprises for privatisation, 140 of which were protected against forced collection. Today the Agency has 290 enterprises for privatisation, 17 of which are protected. By the end of the year it will finalise proceedings for seven of them, leaving 10 for next year. He added that this will untie the privatisation knot and by the end of 2016 privatisation will no longer be a burning issue.
