27th Sitting of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society
At the sitting held on 15 October, the members of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society deliberated on the information on the complaints about the work of higher education institutions – management bodies.
The Committee members were informed of the petition of the professors of the Pristina Faculty of Medicine currently stationed in Kosovska Mitrovica, as well as the petitions of Dr Mirjana Stojanovic Tasic and Prof. Dr Zora Konjovic.
After the petitions were elaborated, the Committee members were addressed by the Dean of the Pristina Faculty of Medicine currently stationed in Kosovska Mitrovica Prof. Dr Rade Grbic.
The four-hour debate resulted in the following conclusion proposals:
1. The complaints listed at the Committee sittings, especially those concerning the jurisdiction, administrative rights of the dean, oversight over the management bodies and implementation of inspectorial decisions, be taken into consideration in the drafting of the new law on higher education.
2. Educational inspection should investigate the allegations of the group of professors of the Pristina Faculty of Medicine currently stationed in Kosovska Mitrovica about the (non)implementation of the inspection’s conclusions of 19 May 2015.
3. The Committee proposes that the Dean of the Pristina Faculty of Medicine currently stationed in Kosovska Mitrovica resign from the post.
