11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2013

At the request of 126 MPs, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic, convened the 11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2013, for Thursday, 29 August 2013, starting at 10.30 am.


The request to hold the extraordinary session specifies an agenda bearing one item:

1. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker, Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic.

Before moving onto the agenda, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups, MPs Janko Veselinovic, Olena Papuga, Radmila Gerov, Milica Vojic Markovic and Jelena Travar Miljevic requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.

In the morning part of the proceedings, the National Assembly completed the single debate on the Decision Proposal.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on the only item on the agenda for the session, National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic set Thursday, 29 August, as Voting Day on the only item on the agenda for the 11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2013, starting at noon.

On Voting Day, 29 August, by a majority of MPs’ votes, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions.

The National Assembly went on to note the resignations of the following members of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, thus terminating their mandate as Government member: Deputy Prime Minister Suzana Grubjesic, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Verica Kalanovic, Minister of Transport Milutin Mrkonjic, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Goran Knezevic, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Culture and Information Bratislav Petkovic and Minister of Youth and Sports Alisa Maric

At the proposal of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly also noted the termination of the term of office of MPs Branko Ruzic and Aleksandar Antic, before the expiry of the term they were elected for.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on the only item on the agenda and ruled on it, the Chair, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Konstantin Arsenovic, concluded the 11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2013.
