11th Conference of the European Integration/Affairs Committees of States Participating in the Stabilisation and Association Process of the South-East Europe
On 22 and 23 October, Tirana hosted the 11th Conference of the European Integration/Affairs Committees of States Participating in the Stabilisation and Association Process of the South-East Europe.
The Conference was opened by the Chairperson of the European Integration Committee of the Albanian Parliament Majlinda Bregu, and the participants were also addressed by Albanian Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta, Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati and EP Rapporteur for Albania Knut Fleckenstein.
The Conference was also attended by Michele Bordo, Chairman of the Committee on EU Policies of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, Edgar Meyer, Chairman of the EU Committee of the Austrian Parliament, and Thomas Schrapel, Director of Konrad Adenauer Foundation Albania.
The conference focused on regional cooperation, overall inclusion and interaction between the actors of the European integration process and the parliamentary approach to the Berlin Process.
The amendments to the Rules of Procedure and further participation of the Pristina parliamentary delegation in COSAP was postponed for the next meeting, to be held in Sarajevo, since there was no Montenegrin parliamentary delegation in attendance.
At the end of the Conference, the participants adopted a Joint Statement.
